Circuits Lab Course

Everyday electronics may seem almost magical, but beneath the surface are patterns and relationships waiting to be discovered. Through hands-on experimentation, students move beyond simply assembling circuits and begin uncovering how circuits behave and why they work.

By the end of the course, students will be comfortable building and investigating increasingly sophisticated circuits of their own — circuits with switches and multiple components, light-sensitive circuits, simple control circuits, and other systems that respond and behave in surprising ways.

How the course works:

Live online classes: Once weekly (Mon 2:30–3:30pm EST)
Small group: 12 students maximum
Slack support: Ongoing support and discussion between classes

Physics 4 Life courses are built around experimentation beyond the live classes themselves. Students should expect to actively experiment, share discoveries on Slack, engage with classmates, and arrive to class ready to discuss what they found. Most students naturally spend roughly 1–3 additional hours per week exploring ideas and continuing investigations between classes, though this naturally varies depending on curiosity and how deeply they pursue their questions.

What families have said

“My child loved playing with Snap Circuits, but now he wants to understand the ‘why’ behind how circuits work, not just assemble them. The course really strengthened both his curiosity and confidence.

“The weekly challenges really gave her the confidence to push through any difficulty or confusion she had.”
